Job Description: Electrician’s Helper (3rd Shift)

Job Title: Electrician’s Helper – 3rd Shift
Shift: Overnight (Typically 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM on Sunday and 12:30 AM – 6:30 AM the rest of the week. Weekends as needed)
Reports To: Lead Electrician

Position Summary

The Electrician’s Helper supports licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within an industrial/commercial setting. This role operates during 3rd shift hours and plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, and minimal disruption to daytime operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment

  • Gather tools, materials, and supplies required for work assignments

  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and verbal instructions from electricians

  • Perform basic tasks such as pulling wire, drilling holes, cutting conduit, and mounting components

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and materials

  • Support troubleshooting of electrical issues and help identify faulty components

  • Participate in preventative maintenance activities during overnight downtime

  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements

  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely

  • Assist in documenting completed work and reporting issues


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Prior experience in electrical, maintenance, construction, or related field preferred

  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools

  • Ability to read and interpret basic diagrams or instructions (preferred)

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

  • Steel Toed Boots

  • Basic Hand tools needed
