About Triad Architects

For nearly 30 years, Triad Architects has partnered with communities across Ohio and beyond to create thoughtful, impactful spaces that improve lives. Our work spans K-12 education, higher education, libraries, parks and recreation, municipal facilities, and commercial projects, with each project rooted in collaboration, creativity, and lasting relationships.

At Triad, interior designers are integrated into the architectural design process from the very beginning. Our team practices interior architecture, giving designers the opportunity to influence space planning, building interiors, detailing, materiality, and the overall user experience. We believe in mentoring our team members, supporting professional growth, and creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Triad offers a hybrid work environment with remote work opportunities on Mondays and Fridays and in-office collaboration on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Position Summary

Triad Architects is seeking an Interior Designer with at least three years of professional experience to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a creative, technically minded designer who enjoys collaborating with architects and clients to shape interior environments from concept through construction.

This role extends well beyond furniture and finish selections. The successful candidate will contribute to interior architecture, space planning, construction documentation, and construction administration while helping create environments that are functional, inspiring, and built to last.

NCIDQ Certification is not required, but we encourage candidates who are pursuing certification.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects and project teams throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Develop creative interior design concepts that support project goals and client needs.
  • Prepare space plans, finish plans, interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and construction documentation.
  • Maintain an updated materials library.
  • Specify FF&E selections that enhance the overall design.
  • Produce renderings, graphics, and presentation materials.
  • Participate in client meetings, programming sessions, and design presentations.
  • Coordinate with consultants and manufacturers throughout the design process.
  • Conduct construction administration duties, including:
  • Site visits and construction observations
  • Responding to Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Reviewing submittals and shop drawings
  • Assisting with punch list reviews and project closeout activities
  • Support project teams with research, code review, and material studies.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and creative studio environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • Three or more years of professional interior design experience preferred.
  • Experience developing construction documents for interior architecture projects.
  • NCIDQ Certification is not required.
  • Proficiency in BIM / Revit is required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, is required.
  • Proficiency in Enscape is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building code and Life Safety requirements as applicable.
  • Strong graphic, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for creating thoughtful, functional, and inspiring interior environments.

Benefits & Professional Development

At Triad Architects, we invest in our people and support both professional and personal well-being. Benefits include:

  • Hybrid work schedule with remote work on Mondays and Fridays
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Three weeks (15 days) of paid time off annually, prorated during an employee's first year based on start date
  • Retirement plan with a 3% company contribution
  • Payment of NCIDQ examination fees to support professional certification
  • Mentorship and professional development opportunities
  • Exposure to diverse project types and all phases of project delivery
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture with opportunities to make a meaningful impact on communities throughout Ohio
