Job description

Job Overview: The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a strategic finance partner within the organization, providing advanced financial analysis, complex pro forma modeling, and decision support for operational and strategic initiatives. This role operates with a high degree of independence and judgment and is accountable for leading complex financial analyses that influence organizational planning, growth initiatives, and major investment decisions. This role includes advanced service line modeling, reimbursement analysis, and financial evaluation of growth initiatives across infusion, specialty services, and procedural platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Leads complex financial analyses related to operating performance, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning.
  • Evaluates trends, risks, and opportunities and translates findings into actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Develops executive‑level financial summaries, dashboards, and presentations.

Budget Leadership

  • Leads significant portions of the annual operating and capital budget process.
  • Partners with department leaders to evaluate assumptions related to staffing, productivity, volume, and reimbursement.
  • Identifies financial implications of operational and strategic decisions.

Strategic Financial Modeling & Service Line Analysis

  • Develops advanced financial models and business cases for emerging healthcare service lines and ancillary revenue opportunities, including infusion, specialty services, and procedural expansion.
  • Evaluates reimbursement structures, payer contracts, and net revenue performance across service lines.
  • Performs detailed analysis of reimbursement methodologies and rate assumptions.
  • Analyzes staffing models and productivity requirements.
  • Evaluates drug acquisition costs and margin implications.
  • Assesses utilization trends, patient volume assumptions, and operational feasibility.
  • Supports financial due diligence and operational modeling for specialty pharmacy initiatives and other strategic growth opportunities.
  • Conducts reimbursement sensitivity analysis to assess financial exposure to payer mix and rate variability.
  • Performs payer mix analysis to evaluate revenue impact by site, provider, and service line.
  • Analyzes ASC and procedural profitability, including contribution margin, case mix, and throughput.
  • Develops and maintains provider productivity benchmarking models incorporating wRVUs, collections, staffing ratios, and compensation structures.
  • Builds multi‑scenario models and performs sensitivity analyses to support capital allocation and strategic decision‑making.

Leadership & CrossFunctional Support

  • Interfaces with senior and executive leadership to provide financial guidance.
  • Serves as finance lead on cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Provides informal mentorship and technical guidance to analysts.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensures financial analyses align with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies and implements improvements in financial modeling and reporting processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis skills.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement and payer dynamics.
  • Expert‑level proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to non‑finance leaders.
  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous situations.

Required Qualifications

  • Six (6) to eight (8)+ years of progressive financial analysis experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex financial modeling and pro forma development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with infusion, specialty pharmacy, and procedural service lines.
  • MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
