Job description

Global Technology Finance & Business Management (GT F&BM) works to strategically manage capital, drive growth and efficiencies, maintain financial reporting and proactively manage risk. By providing information, analysis and recommendations to improve results and drive decisions, our team helps ensure the company can navigate all types of market conditions while protecting our fortress balance sheet. The responsibility of the Global FinOps Center of Excellence team is to provide full aspect of support to GT Cloud FinOps Transformation from strategy to execution in developing of firm-wide solution in cloud financial management tech enablement and F&BM capability & tooling,  and driving the adoption of FinOps operating model, practice and culture change across Global Technology tech/non-tech functions. 

As an Associate within Global Technology FinOps, you will provide comprehensive financial and strategic support to our key stakeholders in program management, tooling development, data modeling and analytics, budgeting & forecasting, cloud rate & usage optimization, data and AI spend deep dive, OKR/KPI performance measure & reporting, and GT FinOps community & communication. You will work with our Public Cloud Enablement tech functions, partner with cloud clients and cloud practitioners in tech/non-tech across LOBs, and collaborate with GT and LOB Tech and Infrastructure F&BM teams and key product line stakeholders in bringing near real-time visibility cloud spend reporting and analysis, business insights, cloud cost optimization opportunity, and data-driven story-telling to all levels of the org with clear cost / action ownership. You will act as a change agent, creating innovative ways to help senior management run and execute our GT Hybrid Public Cloud strategy and FinOps transformation. The role demands strong analytical skills, creative presentation skills, technical abilities, flexibility to manage multiple work related deliverables and an ability to recommend and influence change.  

Job responsibilities

  • Manage cloud demand planning & forecast, monthly cloud billing/allocation, and Cloud EMR in cooperation with accounting, finance, and technical owners
  • Create meaningful insights and dashboard from large cloud cost/usage dataset for spend pattern, OKR reporting, benchmark, and executive review presentation.
  • Monitor cloud consumption at the various level to detect, analyze, and inform anomalies or budget variance.
  • Support stakeholders in understanding their cloud spend based on their application and infrastructure modernization roadmap, budget funding, and significant program forecast
  • Collaborate with LOB FinOps teams in tracking cost optimization identified and action status / results 
  • Contribute educational content, blog posts, and tutorials to help customers derive more business value from spend on public cloud capability

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ year of experience in financial planning & analysis, forecasting/modeling, business intelligence / strategy, data or risk analysis, or internal/external reporting, or similar functions.
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Finance, Data Analysis, MIS, CS or related discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, Databricks Query, SQL or similar tools
  • Ability to perform data mining, data analytics, financial/operation reporting, data-driven story-telling and executive summary end-to-end
  • Ability to juggle multiple activities simultaneously with strategic prioritization of top deliverables under pressure
  • Ability to collaborate and cooperate with various stokeholds across tech and business functions on outcome-based delivery
  • Ability to present public cloud analysis and key messages effectively and in simple terms to others
  • Highly motivated, self-starter in a fast-pacing environment that manage both BAU F&BM deliverables and ad hoc research study
  • Strong influence management abilities to obtain buy-in for desired objectives or strategies
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
