We have a rich history in the community and are and are proud to call Columbus our home.We are looking for an entry-level HR Generalist to provide cross-functional support across the human resources department, assisting with talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits administration, training and development, records retention and compliance auditing, and associate relations. This role exists to give day-to-day operational support to EWI's HR processes and HRIS (Paycom) activities, providing the VP of Human Resources to focus on strategic and complex matters while building a strong foundation of HR experience for the incumbent.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Payroll AdministrationProcess monthly and semimonthly payroll accurately and on scheduleReview payroll inputs, earnings, deductions, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracyReconcile payroll activity and resolve discrepancies or employee payroll questionsMaintain payroll records and follow established internal controlsNew hire training on timecardsMonth-End Accounting and Journal EntriesPrepare and post month-end journal entries for Merrill Lynch interest income and vacation accrualsComplete fringe allocations and the direct/indirect fringe reclassificationRecord accruals for Selecteon and AEP and prepare amortization entries for capital leasesReconcile assigned accounts and retain clear supporting documentation for review and audit purposesLIMS Finance Support and ReportingServe as the primary Finance point of contact for LIMS-related questionsProcess LIMS exports into Dynamics and review the data for completeness and accuracyPrepare and provide the profitability report to lab servicesInvestigate and resolve LIMS-to-Dynamics processing or reporting issuesBWC AdministrationPerform BWC-related reporting, reconciliation, and administrative activitiesMaintain supporting records and respond to BWC correspondence and information requestsCoordinate with internal and external contacts to resolve BWC-related questions and support compliance activitiesAdditional DutiesAssigning access in Dynamics for all new employeesSetting up new projects with allocations and rate tablesRunning the allocator every day and troubleshooting any issuesServe as the backup to billing/ARKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Strong working knowledge of accounting practices to include accounts payable function using purchase orders (PO) and managing vendor documentationDemonstrated knowledge of and ability to adhere to procurement policies/practices and corporate credit card programsStrong computer skills – MS Office, Salesforce, as well as data visualization and reporting platforms such as Power BI ApplicationProficient with complex Excel spreadsheets with formulasExcellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-volume, dynamic work environmentAbility to work effectively with all levels of management and employeesHigh degree of detail-orientation with workEffective analytical and problem-solving skillsEDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in accountingEXPERIENCE:Three (3) or more years' experience in accounting and/or finance performing staff accountant dutiesEXPORT CONTROLS - This position requires access to information and technology that is subject to U.S. export controls.
