Job description

RN - CVICU

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Description: Weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays. Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. 36 hours - night up to 6 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule period. Saturday/Sunday for dayshift, Friday/Saturday for nightshift. Estimated patient ratios 1:1-2. 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred. BLS/ACLS required. Skills required: IV start, tele, vents, Swanz, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, PA lines. Epic experience required! Previous travel experience preferred!

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports, Arterial line management, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Care of the patient on ECMO, Care of Ventilated Patient, Central line care/management, Central Venous Pressure Monitoring (CVP), Chronic/Acute Renal failure, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, Continuous IV sedation, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), CVA/Acute Stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT, ECMO, Emergency Medications, Epicardial Pacing Wire Care and Management, Fresh tracheostomy, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Impella, Infection Prevention, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, Lumbar drains, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Nurse driven ECMO protocols, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Post Cardiac Surgery (directly from the OR), Post Cardiac Surgery (Not directly from the OR), Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Pulmonary edema, Respiratory failure, Sheath Removal, Starting and maintaining IVs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Valve Repair/Replacement, Ventilator Management, Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD)

Patient Diagnoses: Cardiovascular ICU Cardiac, Vascular or Thoracic ICU patients CABG Valve repair TAVR; requiring ICU structural repairs heart transplant lung transplant VAD implantation ECMO Aortic repairs Esophageal repairs

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Secondary diagnosis: low cardiac output syndrome stroke Acute respiratory distress/failure renal impairment/failure diabetes mellitus pulmonary embolus pneumonia sepsis GI bleed heart failure Unstable dysrhythmias Post procedure patients
