Bilingual Customer Service Representative
Emergency Disaster Relief Services
$23.23 per hour
Monday-Sunday, 5-Days a Week, 8-Hour Shift Between 7:00am-11:00pm EST
Columbus, Ohio in Franklinton (onsite)
3-Month Contract with Potential to Extend

What You’ll Do:
  • Answer high-volume inbound calls from individuals and families affected by disasters
  • Provide clear, accurate information on available federal disaster assistance programs and eligibility requirements
  • Assist callers in completing, checking the status of, or troubleshooting their disaster assistance applications
  • Document every caller interaction accurately and thoroughly in a secure case management database
  • Follow up on pending cases and escalate complex or sensitive issues to supervisors or specialized teams
  • Collaborate with teammates and other departments to ensure callers receive consistent, timely support
 
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a federal background check, as employment is contingent on client approval
    • Must pass lifetime criminal background and credit check (no current delinquencies, no student debt, no back taxes) 
  • Will require flexibility to support varying schedules, including evenings or weekends, based on operational needs
  • Prior customer service or call center experience is required
  • Strong verbal communication skills paired with patience and empathy, especially when supporting callers in stressful situations
  • Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment, using case management and call center software while talking with callers
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work well independently and as part of a team
