Job description

About 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc.

For more than 45 years, 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. has helped customers celebrate, connect, and express themselves through thoughtfully curated gifts and experiences. Our family of brands includes 1-800-Flowers.com, Harry & David, Cheryl's Cookies, Personalization Mall, The Popcorn Factory, Shari's Berries, Wolferman's Bakery, and more.

We're continuing to invest in technology, digital transformation, and Agile delivery practices to support our growing business. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative PMO organization and make a direct impact on how our technology teams deliver value across the enterprise.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, collaborative, execution-focused Director of Finance to help lead Supply Chain through a period of significant transformation. This role is deeply embedded in the business working side-by-side with operations to drive improved visibility, discipline, and performance across inventory, product cost, capital investment, and operational efficiency. Business partnering skills are critical. The Director of Supply Chain Finance role will report to the Vice President of Supply Chain Finance.

This is not a traditional "review and approve" finance role. The ideal candidate will actively build, analyze, and challenge, bringing structure to ambiguity, driving accountability, and helping reshape how the organization manages cost, inventory, and capital across supply chain. Success in this role requires the ability to prioritize and execute across multiple high-impact initiatives in a fast-paced, ambiguous, transformative environment.

The ideal candidate brings experience in e-commerce, retail, or consumer packaged goods (CPG), with a strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, cashflow, operating and fulfillment costs, and data-driven decision-making.

This role partners closely with operations, merchandising, procurement, accounting, finance, and product development across all 1-800-Flowers brands to provide accurate financial analysis and insights to drive measurable business results across the portfolio.

What You'll Do
Financial Planning & Analysis

Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and strategic planning activities for site operations and support functions within supply chain organization.

Lead monthly variance analysis analyzing key drivers to provide actionable insights to drive measurable business performance across manufacturing, transportation, and all support functions across supply chain.

Lead productivity/cost savings tracking and reporting processes. Collaborate with supply chain business partners to drive delivery of targeted results.

Develop financial models and scenarios to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.

Support development, implementation, and continued optimization and automation of enhanced reporting and dashboards for supply chain metrics and financial results.

Lead working capital forecasting processes for inventory, procurement, and capital.

Support enterprise-wide product costing processes including the annual standard cost update as well as the streamlining and consolidation of current systems and processes to deliver sku level insights to drive improved profitability across the portfolio.

Support inventory management including development and implementation of consistent enterprise-wide inventory forecasting and budgeting processes.

Support capital analytics processes including pre and post ROI analytics.

Reporting & Analytics

Lead and support the development and maintenance of reporting and dashboards for manufacturing, warehouses, and distribution centers across the network.

Prepare monthly business reviews and executive presentations highlighting business results, key drivers and actionable insights.

Leverage data analytics tools to build financial models to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.

Controls & Compliance

Lead month-end close activities related to manufacturing sites, warehouses, and distribution centers, across the supply chain organization.

Partner with accounting on accruals, reserves, and other balance sheet accounts.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and external audit.

Continuous Improvement

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance visibility to actual results which will drive forecast accuracy and overall financial reporting efficiency.

Support automation initiatives and development of advanced analytics capabilities.

Lead and support cross-functional projects focused on network optimization, cost reduction, and operational excellence.

Business Partnership

Develop and maintain strong, collaborative business partnerships across the supply chain organization as well as other cross-functional departments in sales, accounting, information technology, etc.

Maintain a presence within operations at manufacturing and distribution sites.

Leadership

Develop and coach a successful, high-performing supply chain finance team.

Lead and support annual goal setting and individual development plan processes.

Implement standard operating procedures and documentation to support onboarding and back up capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred

10+ years of supply chain finance experience including costing and inventory, ideally within eCommerce, retail, or consumer products

Strong understanding of cost accounting

Proven experience partnering with supply chain leaders in an ambiguous, transforming, fast-paced, and growth-focused environment
