POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of Credit leads input financing for the cooperative, working closely with agronomy and sales teams to evaluate, structure, and approve customer credit. This role is primarily focused on farmer-facing input financing while providing oversight of credit practices across energy, feed, and retail. The position also works with third-party financing solutions to support customers who do not qualify for internal credit, ensuring both growth and disciplined risk management.


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in credit, finance, or agricultural lending. (Ag lending experience a plus)

Bachelors degree with applicable focus

Experience with UCC searches and filing, crop liens, and agricultural structures preferred.

Strong financial analysis and credit decision-making skills.

Ability to build relationships with farmers, customers, and internal teams.

Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to guide others.

Willingness to travel locally for customers and farm visits.

Lead input financing credit decisions through direct engagement with farmers, including financial analysis and structuring of credit lines.

Partner with agronomy and sales teams to support business growth while maintaining sound credit standards.

Meet with customers and conduct occasional farm visits to assess creditworthiness and strengthen relationships.

Oversee credit analysts and provide guidance and approval on larger or more complex credit exposures.

Ensure consistent credit policies and practices across all business units.

Works with third-party financing relationships and place deals when internal credit is not appropriate.

Monitor credit portfolio performance and identify emerging risks or trends.

Abide by all safety regulations to ensure safety of oneself, coworkers and customers
