Job description

Busy independent private cardiology practice seeking a full-time self-motivated, energetic, experienced Cardiovascular Technician/Medical Assistant who is able to successfully multi-task and is passionate about providing quality patient care needed in our Columbus office 4 days per week and our Newark office one day per week (Thursday).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), obtains past medical history, cardiac risk factors, history of present illness, medications, allergies, etc. and records information in patientโ€™s Electronic Medical Record.

Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.

Performs Electrocardiogram (EKG).

Performs routine laboratory tests (PT/INR) and educates patient when necessary with regard to precautions, usage and directives provided by physician.

Schedules appointments, testing and procedures, accept and post co-payments, maintain medical records, performs clerical/medical records tasks, obtain and upload hospital records into EMR.

Explains and/or provide literature with regard to treatment procedures and testing to patients.

Perform check-out front desk duties.

Call and confirm and/or reschedule upcoming appointments.

Maintains and monitors outstanding orders including failed or cancelled appointments according to protocol.

Prepare patient and assist during stress testing.

Applies ambulatory monitoring devices and instruction to patients.

Telephone triage.

Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.

Scan and analyze Holter Monitor tests (as per training)
