Job description

Superintendent – K-12

Location: Columbus, OH
Employment Type: Full-Time / Direct-Hire
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Overview

We are seeking a Superintendent to oversee field operations for K-12 construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing daily jobsite activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager to drive successful project execution and deliver an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations and coordinate subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution
  • Assist with project scheduling, phasing, constructability reviews, and subcontractor procurement
  • Implement and maintain project schedules while monitoring productivity, costs, and overall project performance
  • Enforce quality control standards, safety policies, and jobsite security
  • Manage permits, inspections, code compliance, and maintain accurate as-built documentation
  • Lead Foreman meetings, participate in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, and prepare daily project reports
  • Identify and resolve field issues to minimize project delays and risks
  • Mentor and develop Field Engineers and Assistant Superintendents
  • Support business development activities, including RFQ/RFP responses and project interviews

Required Qualifications

  • Experience serving as a Superintendent on K-12 construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, scheduling, safety, and quality control
  • Proven ability to lead field operations, subcontractors, and project teams
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent construction experience
  • Experience managing large commercial or institutional construction projects
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling software and project management best practices
  • Experience mentoring field personnel and developing high-performing teams
