Job description

EHS Specialist – Construction / Data Center

Location: New Albany, OH

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support safety operations across large-scale construction and missioncritical projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands the unique risks of data center and structured cabling work, and can drive a proactive safety culture on-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and deliver safety, environmental, and orientation training programs for employees and subcontractors.

  • Implement and continuously improve site-specific safety programs aligned with OSHA, company policy, and client requirements.

  • Conduct facility and jobsite inspections, identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions.

  • Maintain and manage all safety documentation, including:

    • Audits & inspections

    • Pre-Task Plans (PTPs)

    • Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)

    • Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)

  • Lead and document accident, incident, and injury investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective action tracking.

  • Prepare safety-related materials for hearings, insurance cases, and legal proceedings as needed.

  • Partner with project managers, field leadership, and subcontractors to ensure compliance and promote a strong safety culture.

  • Utilize MS Word and Excel at a high level for reporting, documentation, and program management.

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in large-scale construction environments.

  • Experience in data centers, structured cabling, or mission-critical infrastructure strongly preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting inspections, audits, and safety training.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence field teams and leadership.

Preferred Certifications
  • OSHA Outreach Trainer (10/30 Hour)

  • BCSP credentials, such as:

    • ASP

    • CHST

    • OHST

    • CSP

    • SMT / SMS

    • CET

    • GSP
