Job description

Job Summary:

To provide transportation services to individuals and groups, and to complete and maintain the necessary documentation as required by the program

Essential Functions:

  • Operate vehicles (car, van, bus) to transport customers safely throughout Pickaway County and surrounding counties.
  • Provide courteous, professional treatment to clients and ensure the comfort of all the passengers while receiving services.
  • Assist customers in and out of vehicles, carry packages when necessary, and assist with steps if necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicles and notify the appropriate person(s) of maintenance and repair needs.
  • Act as a courier for the agency as a whole when needed and available.
  • Maintain accurate trip sheets and records and turn them in daily to the dispatcher.
  • Maintain professional conversation and follow radio protocol.
  • Notify the PICCA Dispatch Office immediately of all accidents and/or incidents with or without injuries and/or property damage, as instructed in the Driver Handbook. Contact all necessary entities/persons, as dictated in the Driver Handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License and the ability to be insured under agency policy.
  • Obtain and maintain all required certifications and licenses required by the program
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug screen
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check
  • Must be able to successfully complete a health physical

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Driving experience with public transportation system is preferred, with prior experience in a transportation field managing the logistical operations of one or more programs
  • High-school diploma or equivalency
