Extrusion Technician / Extrusion Associate

Schedule: Full-time, 12-hour shifts. Rotating schedule: one week approximately 36 hours and the following week approximately 48 hours, based on production needs.

Job Description
CMI-HR Facility Solutions is hiring dependable candidates for an Extrusion Technician / Extrusion Associate position with a plastic manufacturing company in Columbus, Ohio. This is a full-time opportunity in a plant environment with 12-hour shifts.
The selected candidate will work through CMI-HR Facility Solutions during the probationary period. After successfully completing the required evaluation period, there may be an opportunity to be hired directly by the client company, based on attendance, performance, attitude, safety, and business needs.
The ideal candidate must be reliable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, tolerant of strong odors, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This position supports the extrusion process, quality expectations, production schedules, safety procedures, and daily plant operations.
Job Specifications
Candidates must have math skills for working with fractions and decimals, including multiplying, dividing, and converting measurements. Excellent attendance and work history are required. Previous experience as an Extrusion Technician or similar manufacturing experience is preferred.
The ideal candidate should have good mechanical aptitude, including basic knowledge or comfort with hydraulics, mechanics, and equipment operations. Leadership qualities, a calm and professional attitude, willingness to work overtime when necessary, and tolerance for strong odors in a manufacturing environment are also important. High school education is preferred.
Work Environment
This position is located in a plastic manufacturing plant. Candidates may be exposed to excessive heat, noise, and strong odors related to plastic manufacturing operations. The work pace is fast, and candidates must be self-starters who can stay focused, work safely, and complete assigned duties.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will work closely with the Lead Technician Trainer to learn and understand the extrusion process. Duties include peeling and grinding returns, learning to operate Quality Assurance equipment, understanding the purpose and function of each device, reading and following production schedules, understanding product specifications, and helping ensure quality products are produced according to customer expectations.
The candidate must follow all safety rules and regulations, complete assigned projects and duties, and understand how the position impacts the Quality Management System.

Qualified candidates must be dependable, punctual, safety-focused, tolerant of strong odors, and comfortable working 12-hour shifts in a manufacturing plant. Candidates must have basic math skills, good mechanical aptitude, strong attendance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
