Job description

Government Services Client Marketing Manager

The Government Services Client Marketing Manager plays a critical role in advancing the success of BDO's energy portfolio by leading the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives across multiple statewide programs. This role partners closely with clients to assess marketing needs, define goals, and design actionable roadmaps that drive lead generation, customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. Working collaboratively with Program Managers and cross-functional teams, the incumbent provides strategic guidance, translates complex marketing concepts into practical solutions, and ensures marketing efforts are aligned with program objectives and client outcomes. This position requires travel to client locations up to 20% of the time.

Job Duties:

  • Partners with clients to assess the current marketing landscape across the full customer journey, including lead generation, conversion, customer acquisition, retention, and performance measurement
  • Applies subject matter expertise to design, implement, and optimize strategic marketing campaigns that align with program goals and client priorities
  • Identifies near-, mid-, and long-term objectives and collaborate with clients and Program teams to develop actionable plans that advance those goals
  • Develops client-specific strategic frameworks and recommend targeted marketing initiatives to address defined business needs and opportunities
  • Defines, scopes, and documents business requirements for marketing campaigns and related initiatives to support successful execution
  • Manages consulting-related business objectives, meeting budget expectations, maintaining portfolio profitability, and delivering high-quality client work in accordance with project scope
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and other BDO service lines to deliver scoped consulting support, strengthen integrated project execution, and promote overall client success
  • Stays current on industry trends, emerging technologies, leading practices, and research to inform client recommendations and continuously enhance BDO's marketing approach
  • Leads needs assessments and discovery sessions to understand client environments, priorities, and expectations, and translate findings into practical solutions
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Advertising from an accredited college or university, required

Experience:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in marketing operations, strategic marketing, and/or management consulting, required
  • Experience spanning both the strategic and tactical dimensions of modern marketing, including energy efficiency marketing and utility program experience, preferred
  • Cross-industry experience and familiarity with a range of sales models, including direct and channel approaches across both B2B and B2C environments, preferred
  • Project management experience, preferred

Certifications/Licensure:

  • N/A

Software:

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required

Language:

  • Fluency in Spanish, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of demand generation strategies, campaign execution best practices, lead management, data hygiene, reporting, and performance analysis
  • Proven ability to lead interactive workshops and translate high-level concepts into practical, client-ready solutions that are clear, actionable, and easy to understand
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented skill set with ability to distill action items from multiple information sources quickly.
  • Superior interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management including presentations, workshops, and boardroom meetings
  • Proven ability to navigate and strengthen relationships within and between teams and groups
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client locations up to 20% of the time

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $90,000 - $100,000 Maryland Range: $90,000 - $100,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $90,000 - $100,000
