Job description

Position Overview

Elite Construction Design Management is seeking an experienced and motivated Working Carpentry Foreman to lead field operations while actively participating in carpentry and construction activities. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing daily jobsite operations, coordinating crews, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining project schedules, and promoting a culture of safety and accountability.

The ideal candidate is a skilled carpenter and proven field leader with experience managing commercial construction projects, interpreting construction documents, and delivering work that meets the highest standards of quality and safety.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, carpentry, or related trades, with demonstrated leadership experience in a foreman or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, procedures, and sequencing.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute work from blueprints, specifications, scopes of work, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with construction management tools and software, including Bluebeam; experience with project scheduling and coordination is required.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, federal safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate crews while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, clients, and field personnel.
  • Experience with material procurement, equipment coordination, quality control, and project documentation.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise carpentry crews and subcontractors while actively participating in construction activities as needed.
  • Coordinate and direct daily work assignments to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and construction documents to ensure work is performed in accordance with design intent and contract requirements.
  • Maintain a strong jobsite presence, providing hands-on leadership, mentorship, and support to field personnel.
  • Monitor workmanship and enforce quality control standards throughout all phases of construction.
  • Promote and enforce a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Conduct daily site inspections, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize delays and maintain project momentum.
  • Coordinate the delivery and procurement of materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractor resources.
  • Communicate project progress, concerns, and resource needs to project management teams in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, safety records, and quality inspections.
  • Foster a positive team environment built on professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
