Job description

We’re looking for a dependable Business Development Manager to drive Porta Kleen’s growth through strategic sales, business development, customer relationship management, and marketing initiatives. This role identifies new opportunities, builds lasting customer relationships, and partners across teams to expand Porta Kleen’s presence in existing and emerging markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, market research, industry events, and strategic outreach.
  • Develop and execute business development plans for targeted industries, geographic markets, strategic accounts, and customer segments.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers and develop a clear understanding of customer needs, challenges, and future opportunities.
  • Manage opportunities from initial prospecting and qualification through proposal development, presentation, negotiation, and operational transition.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to develop solutions that support customer needs, revenue goals, profitability, and service objectives.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities while maintaining accurate prospect, activity, follow-up, and opportunity information in CRM systems.
  • Develop and monitor sales and marketing KPIs, including pipeline growth, lead conversion, customer acquisition, revenue opportunities, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate new markets, customer segments, service opportunities, and geographic areas for potential growth.
  • Develop sales presentations, proposals, marketing collateral, customer communications, and other materials supporting business development efforts.
  • Partner with Marketing on targeted campaigns designed to increase awareness, generate qualified leads, and create new customer opportunities.
  • Help develop clear messaging and positioning that communicates Porta Kleen’s capabilities, service offerings, and competitive advantages.
  • Represent Porta Kleen at customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, networking opportunities, and other business development activities.
  • Research competitors, industry trends, customer needs, and market activity to identify opportunities and refine sales and marketing strategies.
  • Strengthen existing customer relationships and identify opportunities for account expansion, additional services, and long-term partnerships.
  • Coordinate with Operations to confirm sales commitments can be executed successfully and transitioned to the appropriate operational team.
  • Support quotes, proposals, RFP responses, and presentations while ensuring alignment with Porta Kleen’s overall sales strategy.
  • Provide leadership with regular updates on pipeline activity, customer feedback, market trends, competitive activity, and potential growth opportunities.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, marketing, account management, or a related customer-facing role preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, build customer relationships, develop new business, manage a sales pipeline, and effectively use CRM systems.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, analytical, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to use sales and marketing data to evaluate opportunities and results.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments, develop customer-facing proposals and presentations, and travel for customer meetings, site visits, trade shows, and other business development activities.
