This is not an assembly line environment—it requires precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Assemblers will receive hands-on training specific to the product line and will work closely with experienced team members in a fast-paced, collaborative department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly of airport runway signs and lighting systems (18”–166”) in a non–assembly line environment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions accurately
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, air tools, rivet guns, and lift tables for assembly tasks
  • Assemble sign components including floor, sides, top pieces, and “J” rails
  • Align and secure components using bolts, screws, lock washers, adhesives, and sealants
  • Install feet, tethers, and other required hardware on finished assemblies
  • Apply silicone, butyl sealants, gaskets, and other materials as required
  • Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications
  • Load finished signs onto trolleys and secure them to skids for transport
  • Tag, stage, and prepare finished products for delivery
  • Collaborate with team members and participate in cross-training across departments
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while meeting production standards
  • Follow ISO procedures and company quality guidelines consistently
  • Assist with other duties as assigned, based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–3 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment (non-assembly line).
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Mechanical aptitude with proven ability to use hand, power, and air tools.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical prints and schematics accurately.
    • Experience applying sealants, butyl, and gaskets.
    • Cross-training or experience with metal finishing equipment such as deburring and grinding tools.
    • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, or business software systems).
    • Pallet jack experience required; forklift experience preferred.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. (average parts typically 10–15 lbs.).
