Job description

Job Summary

Material Handlers are responsible for efficiently and accurately receiving product and shipping orders, ensuring they are processed, put away, picked, and shipped in a timely and secure manner. This position requires use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks. You will be expected to work at a fast pace, be attentive to detail, willing to work hard with a good attitude, and be able to embrace change. Material Handlers are given extensive training for success in their position and cross-training opportunities may be required. We offer on-site training and mentoring for all positions. SHIFT SCHEDULE & WAGE

  • Monday-Thursday from 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM 
  • Starting wage is $21.00/hr (which includes a $1.00/hr shift differential) and a potential of up to $0.88 in raises every 6 months
Responsibilities
  • Retrieve items from racking accurately and efficiently, using our handheld scanning devices and ERP system, completed on foot or using forklift equipment
  • Sort and consolidate picked items using handheld scanning devices, preparing customer orders for shipment processing
  • Pack products accurately and securely using our internal SPS system or CVP machines, focusing on providing an excellent customer experience
  • Bundle and verify orders for shipment, ensure order accuracy, and operate the bundler system
  • Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by hand
  • Use our ERP system to systematically receive inventory accurately and efficiency, ready to be placed in storage racking
  • Move palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock, or transport product to other areas of the distribution center 
  • Scan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device, ready for warehouse operations
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
  • Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership.
  • Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
  • Abide by all company and warehouse policies 
  • Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.
Experience
  • 1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required
Education
