About the role:
Schedules, orders and coordinates the delivery of materials, equipment and services used in support of Viant sites and product manufacturing according to production plans. Controls the management of assigned MRO items in support of site requirements and in accordance with management objectives. Expedites requirements as needed (e.g., order action, open orders, late order reports). Negotiates purchase price, establishes delivery dates and payment terms for approval by management. Assist in the selection of particular vendors/suppliers with whom to place orders and acts as primary contact with vendors/suppliers. Resolves problems with assigned suppliers, materials, equipment or service orders. As a cross-functional team member, represents supply base and takes actions necessary to support quoting, production, cost savings initiatives, quality/complaint investigations and other supply chain related activities.
Work Model: Monday - Friday, 100% onsite 8:00 AM
We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $65k-$82k. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
What you'll do:
- Prepare instructions and oversee purchasing systems and procedures; reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Responsible for tactical procurement in support of the sites' production schedules, as well as purchase order releases on blanket agreements negotiated with the Viant Global Sourcing team.
- Prepares management reports as required (Procurement Spend analysis/cost savings program; material and services cost reduction tracking, etc.); Tracks and updates operating/expense budget.
- Procures all materials and services to necessary dock dates to ensure on-time support of site requirements
- Ensures purchase orders are properly managed to insure on time delivery and proper supplier relationship management both internally and externally.
- Works with Global Sourcing to develop cost reduction programs with suppliers to ensure an annual reduction is achieved per facility objectives for both common Viant materials and services working with Global Sourcing as well as indirect spend activities.
- Timely sourcing and cost-effective procurement of MRO items factory/office supplies, as well as outside services.
- Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop planning and procurement activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product.
- Responsible for site procurement activities (services as well as expense items).
- Managing and maintaining supplier programs, including the implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory for MRO items, Blanket Purchase Orders for high volume MRO & Service Items.
- Global Sourcing - actively participates with Viant Global Sourcing Commodity Management team on Strategic Supplier partnerships and agreements in support of Viant Strategic Goals.
- Participates with Strategic Sourcing Commodity management on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM quarterly / bi-annual reviews with key suppliers for the site, as well as participates in Global Sourcing SRM meetings as required.
- Supplier Performance Management - responsible for working with site personnel and global sourcing on supplier report cards to ensure that plans of action are developed and implemented for improving poor performing suppliers.
- In support of global procurement objectives, develop supplier programs to ensure necessary materials / services are on site.
- Responsible for assisting and in development implementation/maintenance of Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Kanban/Pull systems with vendors and production for MRO items.
- Participates in cross-functional teams chartered to perform Global Strategic Sourcing related continual improvement and/or problem solving.
Requirements
Education/Certification:
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
- APICS Certification preferred
- Strong sales, service, and customer relationship management acumen
- 1-3 years of relevant customer operations, customer service, or order management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated environment
- Oracle or similar ERP system experience preferred
