    Based in Yakima, WA, Triumph Actuation and Landing Gear Systems designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, hydraulic valves and manifolds, hydraulic fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars and employs more than 240 employees.Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is also the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching US Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers. TRIUMPH has provided every holdback bar since the F-14.

    Machinist Externship (PartTime)
    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

    Overview
    We are offering a part-time Machinist Externship in partnership with JM Perry Technical Institute. This program provides hands-on, industryaligned training designed to support students and emerging professionals seeking real-world machining experience. Participants will gain exposure to machining processes, shop safety, and the technical skills needed for future roles in manufacturing.
     

    Key Responsibilities
    Assist machinists with setup, operation, and basic maintenance of machining equipment
    Support production tasks including part handling, measurement, and documentation
    Learn and apply shop safety procedures and best practices
    Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and basic measurement requirements
    Maintain a clean and organized work area

    Qualifications
    Minimum Requirements
    High school diploma or GED
    Enrollment in (or completion of) the Precision Machining Certification Program at JM Perry Technical Institute
    Strong interest in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical trades
    Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
    Reliable attendance and punctuality
    Willingness to learn in a fastpaced environment
     
    Preferred Knowledge and Skills
    Ability to perform applied math calculations (measurements, conversions, tolerances)
    Familiarity with precision measuring tools
    Basic understanding of machining processes or mechanical systems
    Ability to read simple part drawings or blueprints
     
    Compensation:  $21.00/Hour
