We are recruiting a TMS Technician for a full-time position. We are currently seeking a highly organized, friendly and compassionate candidate. No previous TMS experience necessary. This position includes paid TMS training and certification. Previous experience with patient care is required.

About Us

At YBH we are committed to providing cutting-edge mental health care with a patient-centered approach. Since 2009, our dedicated, knowledgeable, compassionate team has ensured our patients receive the highest quality, most comprehensive mental healthcare possible. As a premier provider of TMS and psychopharmacology, YBH continues to expand throughout California with locations in Manhattan Beach, Torrance, Long Beach, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Westlake Village, Encino, Marina Del Rey, Lake Forest, Brea and Pasadena.

What is TMS?

Although antidepressants and talk therapy are treatment options for depression, over half of patients still experience symptoms after trying these conventional treatments. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a safe and effective treatment for depression that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate specific areas of the brain responsible for mood. TMS is non-invasive (does not require surgery), non-systemic (does not affect the entire body), covered by most insurance and has no drug- related side effects.

What's Involved in TMS Treatment?

During TMS treatment, patients recline in a private treatment room and may relax, read, work, or watch television during TMS treatment. A TMS magnet is positioned over the patient's head to deliver gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain underactive in those with depression. Each treatment sessions lasts about 20 minutes, after which patients can get back to their days right away, including work or school.

TMS Technician Responsibilities:

  • Administer TMS treatments according to specific physician protocols. Set up the TMS device and monitor all aspects of the treatment sessions for patient comfort and treatment accuracy.
  • Provide excellent patient care and treat patients with compassion while developing trust and rapport. Provide support, reflective listening, and compassion to patients struggling with depression and/or anxiety.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with patient comfort, coil contact, and TMS system setup throughout treatment.
  • Administer psychiatric rating scales and counsel patients on completion of scales.
  • Record session notes, track insurance authorizations, and schedule patient visits using EMR and medical scheduling software.
  • Communicate with a team of certified TMS psychiatrists who oversee patient treatment at multiple office locations.
  • Ability to deliver superior customer service to all potential patients. Strong customer service skills and exceptional phone presence are a must.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, strong computer and data entry skills required.
