Job Description
Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Schedule: Days
Assignment Details:
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40
Requirements:
- Master's degree required
- Speech & Language Pathologist license required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluative and therapeutic procedures under the order of a physician to address communication disorders and dysphagia.
- Evaluate residents and establish a therapeutic plan of care including functional goals.
- Provide consultation to physicians and other healthcare team members regarding residents' therapeutic and discharge needs.
- Document all interactions and ensure all documentation is accessible and understandable to the care team.
- Recommend and provide education on assistive devices for communication and swallowing.
- Participate in team meetings, maintaining clinical knowledge and skills through ongoing education and professional development.
