Role overview
The Logistics Technician will operate powered industrial trucks and support shipping and logistics activities to ensure timely movement, storage, and shipment of materials. This role maintains accurate shipping documentation, supports inventory control, and helps reduce risk through effective process execution and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operate forklifts and move materials between Kanban locations, outside storage, and production to support flow and shipment schedules.
Inspect incoming receipts for accuracy and completeness; verify compliance with order specifications.
Prepare, pack, label, and stage outbound shipments; generate and verify shipping documents (BOLs, invoices).
Coordinate with carriers, enter pick-up requests, and track/resolve shipment issues and delays.
Assist with cycle counts, loading/unloading trucks, and other warehouse/logistics tasks.
Maintain clean, organized storage and staging areas and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
Follow all company safety procedures and maintain equipment inspection records.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support efficient movement of product from production to shipment.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation of corrective actions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Proficient with basic computer skills and Microsoft Office; experience with shipping systems preferred.
Forklift and material handling experience preferred.
Knowledge of bills of lading, inventory practices, and logistics preferred.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and customer service orientation.
Ability to lift/move heavy packages and perform occasional outdoor work.
Willingness to present and collaborate across plant teams as needed.
