    Job description

    Job Summary
    The Process Engineer II position assumes the programming/operation/training of all equipment and develops/implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls, coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. One of the primary responsibilities for the Process Engineer II is to handle programming and training for all equipment for the facility with an emphasis on those that have Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) controls.
    Job Description
    Key Accountabilities:
    • Performs as a 'Subject Matter Expert' on any equipment that requires PLC such as routers/waterjets/CNC Machines/Saws/robots etc.
    • Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
    • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
    • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
    • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
    • Oversees product and process data base by writing computer programs, entering data.
    • Lead development of an apprenticeship program for our new and/or inexperienced employees with intent develop a formal internship program.
    • Leads process improvement initiatives, problem resolution, project management and employee training.
    • Lead improvement of manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
    • Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
    • Assists to improve systems pertaining to production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.
    • May need to initially rotate to different shifts for training purposes only.

    Qualifications:
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing technology preferred, or at minimum an associate degree in an Engineering discipline.
    • 3 - 5 years of demonstrated experience in a recognized technical field or equivalent experience in manufacturing field in lieu of degree will be considered.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques.
    • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivating.
    • Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
    • Ability to problem-solving and work as a team.

    Preferred Requirements:
    • Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office).
    • Solid Project management skills.
    • Self-motivated, good communicator and capable of working independently while handling fluctuating workloads.
