Production Supervisor
Location: Woodridge, IL 60517
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Shift: 3rd Shift | Monday-Friday |10:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000

Sterling Engineering is partnering with a plastics manufacturing organization seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily production operations on 3rd shift. This hands-on leadership role will be responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement while overseeing blow molding and filling operations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily production activities and ensure the achievement of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale objectives
  • Manage and sustain daily management systems through coaching and mentoring production employees
  • Plan staffing levels and adjust shift schedules based on production requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives including 6S, changeover improvements, and Lean Manufacturing activities
  • Develop and execute training plans for machine operators and production personnel
  • Coordinate production schedules, material verification, and crew assignments
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure production goals are achieved
  • Maintain and update work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Enforce safety, quality, and housekeeping standards throughout the facility
  • Conduct audits, investigate incidents, and support corrective action activities
  • Monitor production performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with blow molding and filling operations is required
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in a production environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required
Preferred Background
  • Plastics manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience
