Your Opportunity
We are looking for a talented Senior Project Manager, Industrial Water who wants to be part of a purpose-driven organization that's focused on helping our clients, colleagues and communities thrive. The candidate will support project proposal and application processes throughout the US and Canada. The Senior Project Manager will serve as a client-facing leader within Stantec's Industrial Water practice, delivering complex multidisciplinary projects while supporting business growth across North America. This seller-doer role balances project execution and leadership (approximately 70%) with client development, strategic pursuits, and market growth activities (approximately 30%). The successful candidate will build trusted client relationships, identify opportunities, and help expand Stantec's industrial water business.
Project Management skills include, client management, engineering disciplines technical scope of work management, financial and schedule tracking as well as development of related interim plans to address challenges. Projects assigned may be broad, varied, and diverse in scope. You will analyze proposed projects to ensure safety, reliability, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Business development/application activities ranges from intentional listening to client needs and identifying related solution opportunities to high level business strategies and implementation planning. Your Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead and manage industrial water projects of varying size and complexity within multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and delivery performance
- Develop and review scopes of work, cost estimates, and Division of Responsibility (DOR) matrices
- Coordinate internal project teams and technical disciplines to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Apply technical expertise and professional judgment to support project execution and client success.
Business Development & Client Growth
- Serve as a primary client-facing representative for key industrial accounts and strategic pursuits.
- Develop and maintain decision making level client relationships through meetings, site visits, workshops, presentations, and strategic planning discussions.
- Lead or support proposal development, pursuit strategy, capture planning, interview preparation, and proposal leadership activities.
- Support development and execution of strategic client engagement and account growth plans.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new client relationships and growth opportunities within targeted industrial sectors.
- Represent Stantec externally through conferences, industry organizations, client workshops, and technical presentations.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor, supervise, and develop high-performing project teams.
- Foster collaboration across multiple business lines and technical disciplines to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Support a culture of technical excellence, accountability, client service, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Ability to manage EPC/EPCM projects.
- Ability to manage multidiscipline engineering teams
- Work closely with Engineering Managers, Lead Discipline Engineers, Project Engineers, PM and CM Leads and engineering staff and be ultimately responsible for the project team performance on specific project, meeting the Company's contractual obligations and the Client's needs and expectations, on time, first time, within budget.
- Ensure that all company policies and procedures are known, understood, and adhered to by all supervised staff.
- Develop Project Execution Plans.
- Finalize Project Delivery Processes and Tools to deliver EPCM (PM, PC, E, P, CM).
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- General understanding of all phases of project document production, client procurement procedures, and regulatory approval processes.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers/vendors, funding agencies and reviewing agencies; to deliver technical presentations in public forums in conferences and technical symposia.
- Possesses excellent time-management skills, thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and available resources.
Education and Experience
- Demonstrated success in developing new client relationships and growing business within industrial markets.
- Experience influencing and leading project pursuits from opportunity identification through contract award.
- Proven ability to expand existing client relationships through consultative engagement and trusted advisor interactions.
- Experience developing strategic account plans and growth initiatives.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to engage senior client stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civ-il/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience.
- License: Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year.
