    Sr. Compliance Specialist| Pay Range: $97,580.00 - $126,795.00
    We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Compliance Specialist or Engineer to join our Compliance team!
    As the Senior Compliance Specialist, your role will: Be responsible for overseeing the implementation of processes across SPP's corporate-wide programs to ensure compliance with national and regional reliability and commercial business practice standards. This involves analyzing compliance requirements, monitoring activities in real-time, and collaborating with internal and external compliance, operations, and engineering teams.
    The role also involves maintaining relationships with SPP members, external audit teams, and industry representatives to ensure compliance requirements are met. You will provide guidance to the Compliance Department staff and work independently.
    Specifically, this position will focus on the SPP Planning Coordinator activities, which includes preparing documents, providing compliance evidence, and overseeing the implementation of new members to SPP during expansion.

    Essential Functions:
    • Serve as a consultative expert as needed on compliance matters.
    • Manage compliance risk and decisions that impact Business Units ability to comply with regional reliability standards
    • Develop documentation and prepare for SPP for compliance audits, Compliance Violation Investigations readiness evaluations, certifications, etc.
    • Provide compliance advice and guidance to SPP members and registered entities.
    • Provide consolation for education and training programs to enhance the culture of compliance within the organization.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NERC, NAESB, SPP Criteria and other reliability requirements.
    • Assist with the collection, consolidation, and submission of SPP, Member, and general industry comments related to standards development, where applicable.
    • Work in conjunction with SPP Business Units to help ensure ongoing activities meet specified compliance needs, and provide guidance as needed.
    • Conduct internal risk assessments and perform scheduled, ongoing review of internal compliance readiness
    • Conduct investigations of potential compliance risks/possible violations.
    • Develop self-reports, mitigation plans, evidence citations, and responses to requests for information.
    • Develop and maintain Compliance oversight controls.
    • Represent SPP in national, regional, and local forums to further SPP's compliance interests.
    • Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior.
    • Work with Compliance staff to generate compliance findings and programs at Compliance Forums or SPP Working Groups.
    • Manage special projects as assigned.

    To be successful as the Senior Compliance Specialist, we're looking for a:
    Senior Compliance Specialist:
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
    • Five (5) years of industry or compliance experience

    Required Skills:
    • Knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards
    • General understanding of FERC, NERC, and Compliance Enforcement Authority (CEA) roles in electrical industry
    • Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively with engineers, operations staff and management
    • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
    • Demonstrated teamwork and resource management skills to assign and manage accountability in complex projects and new process development
    • Flexibility and the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Advanced degree in related field
    • Engineering, Compliance, or Regulatory background
    • Relevant industry experience, understanding of the NERC standards

    Position Type, Location, and Expected Hours of Work:
    • This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours as needed.

    Travel Requirement:
    • This position requires minimal travel (approximately 10%)
