    COMPENSATION INFORMATION
    The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time.     Senior Functional Coordinator - Operations - Pay Range $97,580 - $126,795
    OVERVIEW:
    The Senior Functional Coordinator will be responsible for providing technical expertise to the real-time operations staff. As a subject matter expert, this role will serve as the secondary customer contact, and support multiple major Functional areas of Operations. The Senior Coordinator will be responsible for operational reporting requirement (FERC, NERC, SPP, SERC, DOE, and SSAE16) and will function as a primary coordinator of audit preparation on behalf of operations. The Senior Functional Coordinator will be responsible for events analysis and reporting findings to inquiring parties, including the SPP Market, Balancing Authority, Reliability Coordination, and Tariff/Interchange. This position functions as a liaison to specific departments that interface with SPP Operations to ensure external tasks consider all Operational implications. As such, accurate and effective decision making in stressful situations is required.
    This Senior Functional Coordinator reports to the Manager/Director Systems Operations. The Coordinator will be required to provide leadership and training for operators across functional lines. The Senior Coordinator will work closely with the Lead Functional Coordinators and the Lead Shift Supervisor to help in ensuring that functional tasks performed by operators have consistency of quality and structure between shifts.
    The Senior Functional Coordinator will continuously improve their Industry and SPP Operations knowledge and expertise. The position will be expected to share this knowledge through accurate and in depth application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Discretion and judgment are required regarding work details and making operational decisions and handles complex and sensitive work on a regular basis.
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    General Responsibilities:
    • Display an increasingly in depth knowledge of and ability to analyze complex Industry concepts and communicate such to real time Operations staff.
    • Coordinate and interface on behalf of Operations with SPP Compliance personnel as necessary
    • Assist in the analysis and working group support for the Integrated Marketplace, Consolidated Balancing Authority (CBA), Reliability, Tariff, Markets, Scheduling
    • Provide SME support for customer relations and other functional areas within SPP on Integrated Marketplace, Consolidated Balancing Authority (CBA), Reliability, Tariff, Markets, Scheduling
    • Coordinate with Functional Analysts to help ensure the accurate and timely preparation of necessary reports for the SPP System Operations function as required by FERC, NERC, SPP, SERC, DOE, and SSAE16

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Experience Requirements:
    • 9 years of relevant industry experience with no degree; OR
    • 7 years of relevant industry experience with an undergraduate degree specific to electrical power system operations; OR
    • 6 years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor's degree
    • (An active NERC RC Operator Certification and/or time spent on one or more SPP Operations desk may be considered in lieu of some experience)

    Other Requirements:
    • Possess advanced knowledge of the calculation principles, functionality and data interfaces of applications used by multiple Functional Areas of Coordinated Operations and Market Operations
    • Possess advanced knowledge of the Southwest Power Pool high voltage transmission system, the SPP Criteria, SPP Business Practices, NERC Reliability Standards, SPP Market Protocols, SPP Regional Tariff, SSAE16 Modeling Controls, SPP Change Control procedures, and SPP Contract Services.
    • Working knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, SPP Criteria, SPP Market Protocols, the SPP OATT and SPP OATT Business Practices.
    • Knowledgeable of and conversant with tools such as the EMS, Open Access Same-time Information System, OASIS Automation and scheduling systems
    • Strong inter-personal and teaming skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Motivation to take appropriate expedited action when required
    • Initiative to stay abreast of industry developments
    • Ability to work with a broad spectrum of individuals with diverse interests when resolving problems
    • Competent skills with communication and data handling software such as Microsoft Office© Word, Excel, and Access
    • Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures
