Description

This position will work closely with the entire Sales team, interacting with team members across our organization and will be communicating with customers regularly. Primary functions will involve collecting and transferring information between the customer and various Simplex departments including Engineering, Production, Testing and Sales. This will include a strong utilization of Microsoft applications and ERP software. It is expected that this position will learn our complex product mix to a point of increasingly independent work. This position is expected to be a "hands-on" professional who is actively involved in learning to increase understanding of the manufacturing process at Simplex. 

  • Daily conversations with customers relaying information and confirming expectations 
  • Direct communication with Customers, Reps, Sales, Production and Engineering
  • Transmitting data in various formats including input or production of reports for sales objectives
  • Effectively utilizing our proprietary ERP system throughout the sales and production cycle
  • Track down and distribute information required to complete orders, quotes and answer customer questions. These tasks may include, but are not limited to: updating customers on estimated delivery information, sending revised drawings to customers, requesting missing information, working with customers to approve alternate parts, work with Purchasing on custom parts needed to complete an order, request current vendor quotes, working with customers to update paperwork needed to complete their order
  • Enter new orders in ERP system and modify existing orders when necessary
  • Create change orders and communicate to customers what is needed to complete the changes
  • Follow up on quote and order status
  • Process cancelation requests from customers to distribute through the necessary departments.
  • Monitor, maintain and distribute new quote requests received through phone calls, emails, and web requests.
  • Obtain the correct cut sheets for parts and/or materials to distribute to our customers as requested.
  • Obtain information from customers in order to create customer accounts.
  • Backup to Sales Department for quoting and special project requests.


Requirements

  • Education, and/or experience equivalent to a two-year Degree in business or a related field
  • Demonstrated successful oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage in customer service situations including resolving problems effectively
  • Must be capable of phone and email etiquette appropriate to a professional office environment
  • Computer skills including solid function and familiarity with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe
  • Ability to work across various departments and positions within the organization
  • Commitment to maintaining integrity and confidentiality in proprietary information
  • Technical background (or similar experience) interpreting drawings and customer specifications
  • Physical ability required in accordance with a typical desk/office position
  • Must be able to communicate (read, write and speak) the English language clearly
