    Job description

ShipMonk isn't just a 3PL — we're the tech-powered growth partner for ecommerce brands, running 12+ owned fulfillment centers across the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe so our merchants can stress less and grow more.

    Operations Supervisor

    ShipMonk | Pittston, Pennsylvania | Full-time | On-site

ShipMonk is hiring an Operations Supervisor to lead a team of 25-30 associates at our Pittston, PA fulfillment center. We ship thousands of orders every day for over 1,500 e-commerce brands, and the supervisors who run our floors are the reason it works. This is not a maintenance role. We are still building how we operate, and we want people who want to build with us.

    Why this role is different

At large 3PLs, the process exists. Your job is to follow it. At ShipMonk, you will find a company with real scale but small enough that your ideas actually change how things work. If you see a smarter way to run a shift, cut walk time, or fix a quality problem, you can propose it, test it, and see it go live. The people who grow fast here are the ones who treat their department like it is theirs.

The growth path from this role is real. Supervisors who deliver results and develop their teams move into senior supervisor and manager roles. We promote from within whenever we can, and we have a track record of doing it.

    About the role

You will own your department: the people, the processes, and the numbers. You will report to the Warehouse Manager and work alongside other supervisors to keep the building running well. This is a floor-level leadership role. Your team will know very quickly whether you are invested in them.

What your day actually looks like

No two shifts are identical, but here is what you will spend your time on:

    • Starting the shift with a team huddle: setting pace, flagging priorities, making sure everyone knows what a good day looks like
    • Watching your KPIs in real time and adjusting before a small problem becomes a big one: labor allocation, throughput, accuracy, safety
    • Coaching associates on the floor, not just correcting after the fact, but catching things early and helping people improve
    • Working across departments when something breaks a hand-off: you do not wait for someone else to sort cross-team problems
    • Looking at your process data and asking why things are done this way, whether there is a better way, and then actually doing something about it
    • Onboarding new associates and getting them to full productivity fast
    • Keeping your area clean, safe, and compliant with equipment and sanitation standards
    What you will own
    • A team of 25-30 associates: their performance, development, and day-to-day experience
    • Department KPIs: throughput, accuracy, productivity, and safety
    • Process improvement: not just maintaining the current state, but improving it
    • Inventory accuracy in your area
    • Equipment maintenance and safety in your department
    • Clear communication up to your manager and across to peers when there is something they need to know
    What you will need

    Required

    • At least 2 years leading a team in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment
    • Comfortable with data: not just reading reports, but asking questions and finding root causes
    • Strong communicator: your team should always know where they stand and what good looks like
    • Available to work weekends, holidays, or overtime when the operation needs it
    • Able to work on your feet most of the shift and lift up to 50 lbs

    Nice to have

    • Experience with warehouse management or inventory software
    • Degree in operations, supply chain, engineering, or a related field
    • Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply: NCO-level leadership experience translates directly into this role
    What success looks like

    In your first 30 days

You know your team by name. You understand your department's current numbers. You have identified at least one thing you want to fix.

    In 90 days

Your KPIs are moving in the right direction. Your team knows what good looks like. You have made at least one process change that stuck.

    In year one

Your department is the kind of place other supervisors point to as an example. You have developed at least one associate who is ready for more responsibility. And you are ready for more responsibility too.
