Senior Diesel Service Advisor
Location:Columbus, OH, USA
Shift:First shift
Schedule:Full time; Wednesday-Friday and every other weekend 5:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Job overview:

  • Act as the main liaison between Schneider drivers and diesel technicians as a Senior Diesel Service Advisor in Columbus, OH.
  • Perform minor repairs and administrative duties that support the day-to-day operations of a shop.

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve truck fault codes to diagnose problems and make appropriate repair decisions.
  • Perform general shop duties, such as answering phone calls, writing service requests, estimating repair times and performing some minor repairs.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with drivers by providing status updates on repair decisions and wait times.
  • Assist with inventory management by ensuring parts needed for a repair are in stock and submitting parts requests when theyre not.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Technical degree in diesel technology or related field or minimum of 2 years of diesel service advisor experience.
  • Computer systems and diagnostic software experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to provide own tools within 30 days of hire.
