    Job Description

    Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Sales & Marketing to join Hotel 1928 and its brilliant team of hospitality enthusiasts. This leadership role is responsible for driving revenue generation, brand visibility, strategic market positioning, and guest engagement through innovative sales and marketing initiatives. The Director of Sales & Marketing will oversee all sales efforts, digital and traditional marketing strategies, promotional campaigns, community partnerships, and revenue‑driving initiatives while ensuring alignment with the hotel’s business objectives and brand standards.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Maintain and promote a teamwork environment with effective and clear communication amongst co‑workers through positive leadership
    • Lead all sales and marketing initiatives for the hotel, ensuring alignment with brand standards, revenue goals, and overall business strategy
    • Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing plans designed to increase occupancy, drive revenue growth, strengthen market share, and elevate brand awareness
    • Oversee digital marketing efforts including social media strategy, website presence, online reputation management, email campaigns, promotional advertising, and content creation initiatives
    • Develop strategic partnerships within the local community, corporate market, tourism industry, universities, wedding/event sectors, and business organizations to increase visibility and generate new business opportunities
    • Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Events, and Operations teams to create integrated promotional campaigns, special events, seasonal offerings, and guest experiences that drive engagement and revenue
    • Monitor online guest reviews, social engagement, and brand perception to ensure a consistent and elevated guest experience across all customer touchpoints
    • Direct advertising and promotional campaigns including print, digital, social media, influencer collaborations, media outreach, and community engagement efforts while tracking ROI and campaign effectiveness
    • Provide pricing and guidance recommendations for sales staff and review and approve negotiated corporate and group rates
    • Develop a working knowledge of the operations of the hotel including food and beverage, guest services, reservations, and revenue management principles
    • Develop complete knowledge of and ensure adherence to company sales and marketing policies, brand standards, and SOPs
    • Drive customer loyalty and repeat business by delivering exceptional service and relationship management throughout each customer experience
    • Provide guidance for RFP season annually to National Sales with the help of GM and/or Regional DOS & National Sales
    • Ensure all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, contracts, customer communications, and marketing initiatives are complete and properly documented
    • Identify and pursue new and repeat business through prospecting calls, networking events, site tours, client meetings, community involvement, and relationship‑building initiatives
    • Develop and maintain market awareness to identify revenue opportunities and implement proactive strategies that maximize hotel performance
    • Analyze sales, marketing, and revenue management reports to identify trends, forecast future demand, optimize marketing spend, and maximize profitability
    • Monitor pricing, market positioning, and competitor activity to ensure the hotel remains competitive within the marketplace
    • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis to evaluate pricing strategies, promotional efforts, digital presence, and product offerings relative to competition
    • Recommend and implement new sales and marketing programs while accurately tracking campaign effectiveness and return on investment
    • Initiate collateral and online marketing efforts including website enhancements, direct mail campaigns, promotional materials, email marketing, social media engagement, and advertising initiatives
    • Prepare annual sales, marketing, business, and budget plans
    • Set and monitor team member goals including weekly sales activities, revenue goals, marketing initiatives, and performance metrics
    • Support the development of promotional materials, brand storytelling, photography direction, and property messaging that reflects the hotel’s unique identity and guest experience
    • Partner with regional leadership and revenue management teams to align sales and marketing strategies with overall company objectives
    • Mentor and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, innovation, and performance excellence
    • Abide by Prime Time Selling hours
    • Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Administration, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years progressive hotel sales and marketing experience with leadership responsibilities
    • Experience in digital marketing, brand management, social media strategy, and revenue‑focused hospitality marketing preferred
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Strong analytical skills relative to hotel revenues, forecasting, and revenue optimization
    • Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms, social media strategy, reputation management, and brand positioning
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    • Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship‑building skills
    • Knowledge of hospitality sales, marketing, and revenue management principles
    • Experience managing advertising campaigns and analyzing ROI metrics
    • Ability to develop strategic partnerships and community engagement opportunities
    • Strong creative thinking, storytelling, and brand development abilities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products with focus on Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
    • Experience with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and online advertising tools preferred
    • Ability to travel as needed
    • Must have flexible work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
