Job description

The IT Infrastructure Engineer supports reliable, secure, and compliant infrastructure operations for MOBIS Alabama, LLC - Savannah Plant (MSV). The role coordinates Hyundai AutoEver America (HAEA), vendors, and internal partners; manages infrastructure incidents, maintenance, projects, and documentation; and provides technical escalation for complex endpoint and connectivity issues. The position also defines work standards for the contracted IT Technician and validates the quality, completeness, timeliness, and documentation of technician-delivered PC support.

(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

IT Service Desk and Deskside Support:

  • Oversee daily service desk and deskside support delivered by the contracted IT Technician, ensuring requests are handled accurately, consistently, securely, and within established priorities.
  • Provide technical escalation and quality review for PC deployment, hardware and software troubleshooting, peripherals, printers, user access, and basic connectivity, while routine execution remains assigned to the IT Technician.
  • Coordinate and validate onboarding readiness, including account requests, hardware preparation, standard applications, initial access, user orientation, and completion of required records.
  • Own the technical standards and approval of Windows 11 PC images in alignment with Microsoft best practices, MOBIS HQ guidelines, security requirements, and MSV operational needs; delegate repeatable build and deployment tasks under approved procedures.
  • Develop and maintain service desk SOPs, troubleshooting guides, checklists, work instructions, escalation criteria, and quality-control requirements.
  • Review ticket updates, asset records, support logs, follow-up actions, and recurring issue trends to ensure accountability, traceability, and corrective action.
  • Develop standardized user orientation, IT training, and internal guidance; coordinate technician delivery where appropriate and verify content quality and completion.

Infrastructure Operations and Service Management:

  • Coordinate HAEA and vendor activities for servers, networks, storage, backup, virtualization, Microsoft 365, endpoint-management platforms, and related infrastructure services.
  • Monitor operational health, incidents, maintenance, security remediation, capacity, lifecycle risks, and recurring problems; drive follow-up through closure and documented validation.
  • Plan and coordinate approved changes, patching, backup verification, hardware replacement, equipment relocation, and service improvements in accordance with change-control and plant requirements.
  • Maintain actionable escalation paths, service records, configuration information, and operational evidence for continuity and audit readiness.

Network and Infrastructure Support:

  • Support Cisco-based LAN/WAN and wireless operations, including switch-port configuration review, VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP/DNS troubleshooting, physical connectivity, monitoring, and escalation to managed-service partners.
  • Maintain network diagrams, port and circuit records, device inventories, configuration backups, and evidence for approved network changes.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure-related performance and availability issues across endpoints, servers, network paths, and dependent services; coordinate root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Apply company cybersecurity requirements and MOBIS HQ standards to infrastructure operations, access, configurations, remote support, and technical changes.

Projects, Security, and Compliance:

  • Coordinate infrastructure and security projects, including requirements, technical review, schedules, risks, testing, implementation, documentation, and operational handover.
  • Support security controls for networks, servers, endpoints, backup, remote access, and Microsoft 365; coordinate remediation of vulnerabilities and audit findings.
  • Collect and maintain procedures, diagrams, implementation evidence, recovery information, and control records required for internal reviews, HQ requests, and audits.
  • Communicate project status, service risks, dependencies, outages, and decisions to the IT Infrastructure Manager and relevant stakeholders.

Documentation, Vendor, and Asset Governance:

  • Create and maintain infrastructure SOPs, runbooks, diagrams, inventories, support guides, change records, and knowledge-based content.
  • Coordinate vendors and service providers for support cases, maintenance, quotations, repairs, delivery, and follow-up; verify technical completion before closure.
  • Provide governance and exception support for IT purchasing, asset lifecycle, stock, invoice tracking, and records maintained by the IT Technician.
