Forklift Operator

PeopleShare is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator to support production operations by accurately pulling product lots and ensuring proper material handling. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficiency, safety, and compliance within a fast-paced environment.

Position: Forklift Operator

Location: Swedesboro, NJ

Pay Rate: $19.25 per hour

Shifts Available:

• 1st Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor to ensure accurate selection and delivery of product lots for production
• Safely unload 20-foot containers stacked floor-to-ceiling with 55 lb (25 kg) boxes of raw materials
• Transport cardboard from staging areas and operate the baler for proper disposal
• Operate forklifts safely and maintain valid certification
• Perform daily forklift inspections and coordinate maintenance as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace at the end of each shift
• Follow all safety, food quality, and regulatory standards (GMP, HACCP, OSHA, etc.)
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience (food production experience preferred)
• Forklift certification required
• Knowledge of food safety standards including GMPs and HACCP

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends if needed
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor

Work Environment

• Warehouse/production environment with exposure to temperature changes, noise, dust, and fumes
