Make an Impact Every Day

As a Buyer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the materials needed to support manufacturing operations are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time. You'll own supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, optimize inventory, and collaborate across departments to keep production moving while driving continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the supply chain.

What You'll Do

In this dynamic role, you will:

• Independently manage procurement planning for assigned commodities in a high-mix, mid-volume manufacturing environment.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that achieve cost savings and value improvement goals.

• Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers while maintaining strong, long-term partnerships.

• Monitor supplier performance, ensuring excellence in delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost management.

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, finance, and planning teams to support production schedules and business objectives.

• Coordinate supplier readiness for new product introductions, engineering changes, and make-versus-buy decisions.

• Analyze purchasing data and supplier performance metrics to identify trends and implement process improvements.

• Lead root cause investigations for supplier performance issues and drive corrective actions to successful resolution.

• Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and optimize procurement processes.

• Prepare reports, metrics, procedures, and documentation to support procurement initiatives.

• Participate in supplier audits, evaluations, and site visits to assess capabilities and manage supply chain risk.

• Demonstrate sound business judgment, ethical decision-making, and increasing leadership within the procurement function.

• Continue developing sourcing expertise through training, mentoring, and expanded procurement responsibilities.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of buying experience in an MRP-driven manufacturing environment.

• Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and multiple commodity categories.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

• Excellent analytical abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

• Proven experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Experience implementing change management initiatives.

• Knowledge of sourcing indexes and market pricing applicable to assigned commodities.

• Understanding of procurement compliance, confidentiality, and internal controls.

• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and collaborative teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing initiatives.

• Background partnering with cross-functional teams on new product introductions and engineering changes.

• Experience conducting supplier performance reviews, audits, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

• Professional procurement certifications (such as CPSM or CPIM) are a plus.

Pay Details: $33.00 to $37.00 per hour
