Make Your Mark in Aerospace Manufacturing

As a Composite Mechanic, you'll play a vital role in the fabrication, assembly, finishing, and inspection of advanced composite and metal aircraft components. Working alongside a highly skilled team, you'll help ensure every part meets the rigorous quality and safety standards that keep the aviation industry moving forward.

What You'll Do

In this hands-on manufacturing role, you will:

• Fabricate, assemble, form, finish, and inspect structural and non-structural composite and metal components.

• Utilize optical and hard lay-up tools in composite and metal assembly operations.

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, work orders, process documents, charts, and specifications.

• Use precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics to complete assignments accurately.

• Verify completed work meets engineering, process, and quality requirements.

• Prepare tools, details, and assemblies for bonding and painting using approved solvents and cleaning solutions.

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.

• Support product flow through the manufacturing process by moving materials and completing production transactions.

• Cross-train in inspection functions and work toward SIA qualification.

• Assist in training and supporting team members across multiple skill levels.

Composite-Specific Responsibilities

• Apply and test vacuum and pressure bag systems for leaks.

• Cut composite fabrics and materials using hand tools and automated cutting equipment.

• Perform hand and machine finishing to precise tolerances.

• Drill, saw, file, sand, trim, patch, fit, build up, and rivet components.

• Sand and polish molds and bond assembly tools for smooth surface finishes.

• Load, unload, and operate curing ovens.

• Apply parting agents to molds and tooling.

• Mix and apply bonding adhesives using a variety of application methods.

• Perform spray and brush priming operations.

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in composite manufacturing, aerospace production, assembly, fabrication, or a related field.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

• Experience working with precision measuring tools and manufacturing equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.

Pay Details: $44.77 per hour
