Role Overview

As the Construction Safety Director, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining a culture of safety excellence on our construction sites. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing and overseeing safety programs, conducting OSHA training, and ensuring accurate incident reporting. You will work closely with our construction teams, management, and subcontractors to create a safe and hazard-free work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Program Development: Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies tailored to the specific needs of each construction project. Ensure that these programs align with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
  • OSHA Training: Conduct OSHA training for all employees and subcontractors, ensuring that they are aware of safety regulations and guidelines. Keep training materials and records up-to-date.
  • Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect construction sites to identify potential hazards and safety violations. Collaborate with site supervisors to address any issues promptly.
  • Incident Reporting: Establish a robust incident reporting system, including near-miss reporting. Ensure that all incidents are properly documented, investigated, and reported to the necessary authorities as required by OSHA regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring that all employees are aware of evacuation procedures and first aid protocols.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct safety audits and evaluations to track and measure the effectiveness of safety programs. Implement improvements based on audit findings.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in OSHA regulations and other safety-related laws. Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable safety standards.
  • Training and Education: Coordinate ongoing safety training and educational programs for employees. Promote a culture of safety awareness and encourage employee involvement in safety initiatives.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and safety program compliance. Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as necessary.
  • Safety Communication: Foster open communication between management, workers, and subcontractors regarding safety concerns, suggestions, and best practices.
