    Position Information
    Job Title Endpoint Management Administrator Job Description
    The Endpoint Management Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's fleet of laptops, desktops, and tablets through Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Manager. This role ensures that all endpoint devices remain compliant, secure, and up to date with the latest operating system patches, software updates, and configuration policies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in device management, patching, compliance, and automation, along with a proactive approach to endpoint health and user experience. In addition, the role includes maintaining an accurate and current inventory of all endpoint devices, coordinating the surplus and disposal of unused or outdated equipment, and supporting lifecycle management to ensure optimal utilization of IT assets.
    The administrator oversees PC procurement, maintains an accurate inventory of devices, and ensures all new equipment is properly configured, enrolled, and deployed to end users. This role manages the surplus and decommissioning process for unused or outdated machines, ensuring responsible disposal and recordkeeping.
    Job Duties
    Endpoint and Update Management:
    1. Administer and maintain Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager for all corporate devices (Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android).
    2. Ensure all laptops, desktops, and tablets receive timely Windows Updates, security patches, and application updates.
    3. Create, deploy, and manage device configuration profiles, compliance policies, and security baselines.
    4. Monitor device health, compliance, and update status using Intune reports, Defender for Endpoint, and Azure AD insights.
    5. Creates and monitors diagnostic reports and dashboards to track metrics.
    6. Enforce device encryption, antivirus, and endpoint protection standards.
    7. Package, deploy, and update applications using Intune and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Win32 apps).
    8. Troubleshoot Intune enrollment, policy application, and update issues across devices.
    9. Support the rollout of new device management initiatives and operating system upgrades.
    10. Document Intune configurations, update processes, and endpoint management procedures.
    11. Provide user support for endpoint issues related to Intune policies or updates.
    12. Configure new devices to meet college specifications, including:
      • OS installation and initial setup
      • Enrollment into Microsoft Intune and college domain
      • Application deployment and compliance configuration
      • Verification of hardware and software functionality prior to deployment
    13. Continuously evaluate and implement improvements for endpoint lifecycle management and compliance.
    PC Reporting & Analytics:
    1. Develop, maintain, and automate diagnostic and management reports using Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Entra ID, and other endpoint management tools to provide insights into device compliance, usage, software deployment, update status, hardware inventory, and endpoint health.
    2. Monitor and analyze PC utilization, hardware health, software inventory, and endpoint performance to identify trends, optimize device lifecycle planning, and support operational decision-making.
    PC Software & Application Management
    1. Develop and maintain a standardized catalog of approved PC software, including version control, licensing information, deployment methods, and support documentation.
    2. Administer the review and approval process for new PC software requests by evaluating business justification, security risks, licensing requirements, technical compatibility, and supportability.
    3. Coordinate software evaluations with Data Security, application owners, and business units to ensure requested software meets organizational security and compliance requirements.
    4. Document software approval decisions and maintain records of approved, denied, and retired software applications.
    PC Lifecycle Management
    • Procurement:
      1. Coordinate and place PC orders in alignment with college purchasing policies and approved standards.
      2. Maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely delivery and warranty support for hardware purchases.
      3. Coordinate and oversee the quote and procurement process for computer equipment, peripherals, software, and related technology resources for the College.
      4. Ensure all technology purchases comply with applicable State of Mississippi Information Technology Services (ITS) guidelines, procurement regulations, and approved Express Procurement Option (EPO) requirements.
    • Inventory, Asset Tagging, and Deployment:
      1. Generate asset tags for new technology assets and coordinate deployment schedules with college stakeholders and the Technical Support & Desktop Services team.
      2. Maintain accurate and current asset records within the Asset Panda Inventory Management System.
      3. Manage the inventory of all college-owned laptops, desktops, tablets, and other endpoint devices, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
    • Surplus of Old Technology:
    1. Coordinate the surplus process for unused, obsolete, or non-functional equipment in accordance with college policies and sustainability standards.
    2. Perform periodic audits to verify asset records and ensure physical inventory matches system documentation.
    3. Work with procurement and leadership to plan equipment refresh cycles and replacement schedules.
    4. Perform periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies to ensure compliance with institutional asset management policies.
    Documentation and Support
    1. Maintain clear documentation of Intune configurations, inventory procedures, and update management processes.
    2. Provide technical support and guidance to administrators, faculty, staff and students regarding device configuration and compliance issues.
    3. Participate in project-work related to device lifecycle management, modernization, and automation.
    Mandatory Qualifications
    (M1) Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    (M2) Minimum 2 years of experience in IT systems or endpoint administration.
    (M3) At least one year managing devices through Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager.
    (M4) Excellent oral and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical environments.
    (M5) Proficiency with Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and Windows Update for Business.
    Desirable Qualifications
    (D1) Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    (D2) Minimum 3 years of experience in IT systems or endpoint administration.
    (D3) At least 2 years managing devices through Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager.
    (D4)
    Experience with hardware procurement and device lifecycle management.
    (D5) Strong understanding of Windows and macOS setup, configuration, and deployment.
