We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.
We launched a new ad-supported tier in November 2022 to offer our members more choice in how they consume their content. Our new tier allows us to attract new members at a lower price point while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach deeply engaged audiences.
Our Team
The Ads Platform Engineering org develops advertising systems and integrations that support the delivery of ads through our world-class content delivery network. We leverage a variety of Netflix investments and innovations to power our ads - a unique combination of client and server-side ad insertions, cutting-edge content delivery systems, ad encoding techniques, content understanding, and metadata. We deliver ads thoughtfully to enhance our members' viewing experience while achieving excellent results for advertisers. Additionally, we ensure brand safety for advertisers during ad serving, ensuring members see only the most appropriate ads.
The Ads Supply Engineering team creates systems and integrations to help Netflix expand its advertising platform. We achieve this by increasing the supply of content and users available for ad monetization. Using Netflix's innovations and strategic partnerships, we aim to provide a seamless ad experience while maximizing revenue in a way that respects user privacy. Our tools and infrastructure enable internal teams and partners to efficiently onboard and manage new ad supply.
Our newly formed team is focusing on rapidly expanding Netflix's advertising footprint. As a key player in the evolving CTV advertising landscape, we are developing unique capabilities to stand out.
We seek highly motivated engineers with experience in ad serving, inventory sharing, and programmatic integrations who are eager to contribute to the growth of our ads platform.
Skills & experience we're seeking:
  • 7+ years of experience, 4+ years of experience in the Ads domain
  • Broad knowledge of ad tech and the advertising landscape, programmatic, and digital marketing trends.
  • Strong experience building 1st party adtech software: AdServer, SSP, DSP, etc.
  • Strong experience integrating with 3rd party partners (AdServers, SSP, DSP) with an understanding of both the technical and strategic value of these integrations.
  • Experience with real-time bidding (OpenRTB), auction dynamics, inventory share rules, and carriage split agreements.
  • Working knowledge of header-bidding and AdServer to AdServer integration techniques.
  • Experience in building first-party tools, APIs, and services that leverage data and real-time insights to support media planning workflows.
  • Collaborated with ad operations to facilitate campaign setup, measurement, targeting, reporting, and advertiser requirements. Experienced in troubleshooting integration issues and working with partner engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with the key aspects necessary for a successful campaign - including, but not limited to, Audiences, Creatives, Measurement, Forecasting, Ad Serving, Reporting, Billing, and OMS.
  • Developed numerous cloud-based applications and proficient in modern programming languages (preferably object-oriented).
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while handling multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building, and mentoring skills.

Nice to haves:
  • Contributed to an Ads industry technology standard (e.g, VAST, OpenRTB) or worked on an industry consortium effort, working group, etc.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML/genAI techniques and an ability to apply them to sales processes such as channel, product, and targeting.
  • Familiarity with legal compliance and the changing landscape of ad regulations around the world.
