    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Oversee technical and engineering operations for assigned mobile broadcast units at remote production sites, ensuring show readiness and successful execution.

    • Serve as the primary on-site technical authority and client point of contact, communicating technical risks, changes, and solutions clearly and professionally.

    • Lead show builds and live production execution, including system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, live operations support, and teardown.

    • Quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues during setup, live broadcast, and breakdown with minimal impact to production.

    • Direct and support engineering crews by assigning roles and tasks, providing real-time leadership, and maintaining safe and efficient operations.

    • Schedule and deploy personnel to meet operational needs and ensure appropriate coverage.

    • Evaluate crew performance, provide coaching and technical mentorship, and participate in performance management processes.

    • Oversee the setup, operation, and teardown of mobile units and broadcast systems in accordance with engineering standards and best practices.

    • Collaborate with engineering leadership, operations teams, coordinators, and clients to meet technical and production requirements.

    • Coordinate equipment, staffing, and logistics with Mobile Unit Coordinators, Field Shop, and maintenance teams.

    • Support mobile unit builds, upgrades, repairs, and system improvements in partnership with engineering leadership.

    • Ensure effective maintenance and asset management, including preventative maintenance, inventory tracking, and repair workflows.

    • Complete post-event technical reports and required documentation accurately and on time.

    • Perform additional engineering or operational duties as assigned.

    Required Skills & Experience:
    • Minimum 4-5+ years of progressive experience in remote broadcast engineering or a related technical field

    • Technical degree preferred (Electronics, Engineering, or related field), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Proven Engineer in Charge-level leadership, with the ability to supervise technical teams, coordinate projects, and execute complex live productions in high-pressure/live production environments.

    • Advanced knowledge of broadcast engineering and mobile television production, supporting major commercial and cable network productions.

    • Strong hands-on proficiency across core broadcast systems, including video, audio, graphics, cameras, routing, intercoms, and IP-based workflows.

    • Solid IT and networking skills, including IP configuration and troubleshooting

    • Deep foundational knowledge Layer 2/3 networking (TCP/IP, multicast, VLANs, QoS, bandwidth management) and mission-critical broadcast troubleshooting.

    • Advanced system-level troubleshooting ability across router control systems, video switchers, audio consoles, EVS networks, intercoms, and other networked broadcast equipment.

    • High-level experience with broadcast control and infrastructure systems, including Magnum, VSM, Cerebrum, or TFC.
