Job description

Pupil Support Assistant
Salary Range/Hourly Rate: Per Paraprofessional Contract: LV IV Step:1 
Start Date: August 31st 2026
Work week: 6.5 hrs per day; M-F 9:00am-4:00pm
Student Level: Mariner Middle School
Position Summary:
Instructional paraprofessional to help with reading interventions in the classroom at the direction of the teacher. Position will work in grades 6-8 providing these interventions. Performs intermediate human support work providing alternative education and basic skills, instructional services to students in reading, motivating students to develop skill in assigned subject matters while supporting appropriate conduct, speech and attire, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the teacher.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Special Requirements:
Must hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, pass MN Parapro test, Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire. Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6-12 months upon hire as needed for program. 
Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.
