Job Summary:
MetroStar is dedicated to building exceptional teams and delivering outstanding technology services. The Sr. Database Engineer I will design, deploy, and maintain secure database environments that support enterprise security platforms and analytics, collaborating with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to optimize data migrations and ensure robust backup and recovery processes.
Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and maintain databases supporting security platforms and analytics systems
• Optimize database performance for high-volume log ingestion and querying
• Support migration of security data from shared systems into enclave-specific databases
• Implement backup, recovery, and data integrity processes in classified environments
• Enforce database security controls, including encryption and access management
• Collaborate with SIEM teams to ensure proper data ingestion, normalization, and retention
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 5+ years of experience as a database engineer
• Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch)
• Experience supporting large-scale data environments (log aggregation, telemetry, event data)
• Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization
• Experience implementing encryption at rest and in transit
• Understanding of data retention policies and compliance requirements
