Job description

Commercial Project Manager

In-Focus Systems | Minneapolis–St. Paul Area | Full-Time

In-Focus Systems is looking for an experienced Commercial Project Manager to lead technology integration projects throughout the Twin Cities.

First and foremost, we're looking for a great construction Project Manager.

If you know how to manage commercial construction projects (reading plans, coordinating schedules and trades, controlling budgets, managing changes, communicating with GCs and clients, and driving projects across the finish line) we want to talk to you.

Experience in AV, low-voltage, technology integration, or smart building systems is a plus, but it is not a requirement.

What You'll Own

Once a project is awarded, you own its successful execution from turnover through completion.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Reviewing plans, specifications, scope, and proposals prior to final client approval to identify gaps or execution concerns
  • Turning the agreed-upon scope into a clear project plan and managing it through completion
  • Managing schedules, budgets, labor, materials, and project milestones
  • Coordinating with GCs, trades, vendors, clients, and our internal teams
  • Managing RFIs, change orders, project documentation, and communication
  • Forecasting labor and material needs and identifying risks before they become expensive problems
  • Tracking project financial performance and protecting profitability
  • Keeping customers informed and expectations aligned throughout the project
  • Properly closing out projects and transitioning completed systems to the customer and service team

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience managing commercial construction projects
  • Understands construction sequencing, plans, specifications, schedules, and jobsite coordination
  • Takes ownership and solves problems rather than waiting for someone else to do it
  • Is organized and disciplined with project documentation
  • Communicates confidently with customers, contractors, trades, and field teams
  • Understands budgets, job costing, and change management
  • Can manage multiple projects without losing track of the details
  • Is comfortable learning new technologies and systems

Experience with commercial AV, low-voltage, security, networking, lighting control, automation, or technology integration is highly valued but not required.

Why In-Focus Systems?

For more than 20 years, we've been integrating technology into some incredible residential and commercial environments throughout the Twin Cities.

This role offers something different from traditional construction project management: you'll still work in the construction environment you know, but you'll be managing projects involving some of the most interesting technology going into today's buildings.

You'll have the opportunity to take real ownership of your projects, work directly with customers and construction partners, and play an important role in the continued growth of our Commercial division.

We value ownership, integrity, craftsmanship, accountability, and taking care of our customers and each other.

If you're a strong construction Project Manager who's interested in bringing those skills into the technology integration industry, we'd like to meet you.
