JOB DESCRIPTION:
"Database Administrator (DBA)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience to manage, maintain, and optimize our database infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Core Technical Skills
SQL & Programming
Expert-level proficiency in SQL queries, complex joins, and query optimization
Strong experience designing and developing stored procedures, functions, and triggers
Proficient in T-SQL, PL/SQL, or equivalent procedural SQL languages
Experience with query performance tuning and execution plan analysis
Database Administration
Installation, configuration, and upgrade of database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Database backup and recovery strategies (RMAN, native backups, point-in-time recovery)
Performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization
Database security management including user access controls, roles, and permissions
Capacity planning and storage management
High availability and disaster recovery implementation (clustering, replication, mirroring)
Patch management and version upgrades
Additional Responsibilities
Database design and data modeling
Index management and optimization
Monitoring database health and proactive issue resolution
Troubleshooting database performance and connectivity issues
Implementing and maintaining database documentation
Automation of routine DBA tasks using scripts (PowerShell, Shell, Python)
Collaboration with development teams for database-related requirements
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and in team environments
Strong documentation skills"
