Light Industrial - Sheet Metal Mechanic (F16 Technician)
Location: Greenville, SC 29607, United States
About the Role
Join Lockheed Martin's Greenville Production Team as a Sheet Metal Mechanic and become an integral part of the F-16 aircraft build, repair, and delivery process. This hands-on position places you at the forefront of aviation innovation, working with a skilled team in a state-of-the-art facility. You will interpret blueprints, fabricate, assemble, and install structural assemblies with precision-directly contributing to national and global defense projects.
Responsibilities
- Interpret complex blueprints and technical documents to plan and execute structural assembly tasks on F-16 aircraft
- Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal components and sub-assemblies with precision
- Repair and maintain aircraft structures, ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards
- Utilize precision measuring equipment for accurate drilling, reaming, riveting, and fastener installation
- Collaborate closely with team members to meet project timelines and production goals
- Adapt to assigned shifts, including 1st, 2nd, or weekend schedules (will train on 1st shift)
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic in a production or aerospace environment
- Proficient in blueprint interpretation, structural assembly, and sheet metal fabrication
- Skilled in precision drilling, reaming, riveting, and fastener installation
- Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring tools and follow strict quality control processes
- Flexibility to work any shift as assigned
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with F-16 or military aircraft structures
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft maintenance and repair procedures
