Job description

Job Description:
  • Responsible for building business success through proactive lifecycle management, product development, and expansion of the assigned Portfolio responsibility. This role acts as the central interface for developing and executing global portfolio strategies in close collaboration with colleagues in R&D, Sales, Strategy, and Marketing.
  • At Client, we know the stakes are high for cell and gene therapy developers, and time-to-market is critical. That's why greater process efficiency, solid regulatory expertise, and having future scale-up in mind are vital. To maximize our customers chance of success, we've crafted a series of GMP solutions for cell and gene therapy based on these core principles. Using TheraPEAK Products customers can better plan the development of their therapy, from discovery right through to commercialization. (Depending on team structure, this role may report to a Senior or Associate Director product manager).
Responsibilities:
Product Line Strategy:
  • Ensure BioScience continues to strive to be a leader in its segment with new product and service offerings that meet unmet market needs and are differentiated from the competition.
  • Manage the complete life cycle and value chain of the assigned product portfolio within (market, competition, customer, and application intelligence) in close cooperation with the marketing manager and strategy teams to deliver on customer commitments as well as on sales and profit targets.
  • Drive the innovation strategy for the portfolio assigned, execute required customer intelligence, and provide leadership for new product development programs. Includes responsibility for business case development and formalization through the stage gate process, development of product specifications and use cases, beta testing programs, and preparing products for launch.
  • Understand customer needs and the opportunities for BioScience as part of the workflow needs. Develop a key understanding of customers' existing needs and unmet needs and map them to our current and future offerings through market and customer insight studies.
  • Own and manage the product pricing strategy.
  • Actively identify new areas for customer and business value, including improved products and services, improved margins, and new technology and IP offerings.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders in the business, such as sales and marketing management, to develop and implement pricing, positioning, and channel strategies for the various global regions and market segments.
Sales and Operations Planning and Performance Insights:
  • Drive the forecasting process to provide a vital link between sales forecasts and production quantities to address demand exceptions, forecast new products, inventory management, and assist with prioritization in the event of supply challenges.
  • Monitor the performance of the product portfolio to ensure revenue, volume, and margin targets are consistently met and escalate concerns and required adjustments.
  • Monitor product line performance at the customer level to understand trends and identify new challenges and opportunities to inform the business strategy and go-to-market activities.
  • Provide regular reports as requested by business leadership.
  • Understand the assigned portfolio at all levels and keep key stakeholder groups (Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance) apprised at all times of new developments and opportunities.
Marketing Planning :
  • Actively support the development of comprehensive Marketing plans for the assigned portfolio by collaborating closely with the marketing management team.
  • Support the marketing team in global campaigns to drive sales for the portfolio assigned.
  • Support the generation of marketing and PR content by the marketing team to position the products assigned.
Product Sales & Support:
  • Generate technical awareness in the appropriate departments to handle routine customer concerns quickly.
  • Respond directly to non-routine technical, business questions, and regulatory questions.
  • Support the sales and service teams through customer visits and regular communication, including participation in regional and global sales meetings.
  • Actively drive training of service and sales representatives to sell and support the product portfolio on technical and regulatory aspects.
Safety/Compliance:

  • Safety/Compliance: Manage the safety and regulatory requirements of the assigned portfolio, supporting CAPA and change control commercial activities.
