Job description

Our client, a locally owned trailer service department in the Cedar Rapids area, is seeking talented and motivated Trailer Technicians to join their team. If you are a self-driven and high performer with experience repairing trailers, boats, or RVs, we encourage you to apply. Your skills in autobody, electrical systems, and welding will be highly valued.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (No Weekends!)

Responsibilities:
  • Service and repair a variety of trailers, including but not limited to utility trailers, car and cargo trailers, race haulers, and horse trailers.
  • Handle tasks including tires, brakes, lighting, electrical systems, and small part hydraulics.
  • Perform welding and fabrication work.
  • Apply your excellent electrical and autobody skills to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Diagnose, problem-solve, and repair various trailer and towing equipment issues.
  • Replace and repair trailer components such as doors, floors, rails, roofs, posts, and side panels.
  • Conduct brake service, wheel seals, axle replacement, suspension work, hitch installation, electrical wiring, and painting.
  • Collaborate with the management and technician team to monitor progress and coordinate material and supply management.
  • Maintain a neat and organized shop and parts showroom.

Ideal Candidate:
  • 3+ years of experience in auto, equipment/trailer repair. Will consider less experience with the willingness to prove themselves at work.
  • Experience with tires, brakes, lighting, electrical systems, small hydraulics, welding, and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of both English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Dependable, punctual, focused, and acts with integrity.
  • Self-driven, high performer, and motivated by job quality.

Requirements:
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs with assistance.
  • Capability to climb, bend, and crawl.
  • Active and valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
