    Insulet's Global Operations team is seeking a Senior Director, Digital Transformation, to lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in operational excellence. In this role, you will drive process optimization, champion a culture of continuous improvement, and leverage digital tools and analytics to achieve breakthrough results in manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.

    Position Overview

    Insulet's Global Operations team is seeking a Senior Director, Digital Transformation, to lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in operational excellence. In this role, you will drive process optimization, champion a culture of continuous improvement, and leverage digital tools and analytics to achieve breakthrough results in manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.

    You will be expected to set and deliver clear, quantifiable outcomes for transformation initiatives-including improvements in cost, quality, and productivity-by piloting and scaling digital solutions and AI projects that demonstrate tangible business impact. Empowering teams to innovate and rapidly learn will be central to ensuring transformation projects are aligned with enterprise strategy and deliver sustained results. Data and analytics will be leveraged as enablers of transformation, supporting the delivery of actionable insights and business impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Transformation Leadership & Strategy

    • Lead and mentor a team driving transformation across manufacturing, supply chain, and quality, supported by data-driven insights.

    • Define and execute a transformation roadmap, utilizing digital tools and analytics to enable operational excellence.

    • Represent Operations transformation strategy and progress to executive leadership, driving alignment and visibility across the enterprise.

    • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and transformation across global operations.

    • Lead or co-lead governance forums and steering committees related to manufacturing and operational transformation.

    • Set and deliver clear, quantifiable outcomes for transformation initiatives, including improvements in cost, quality, and productivity.

    • Pilot and scale digital solutions and AI projects that demonstrate tangible business impact, following the "Assistant, Orchestration, Autonomous" framework.

    • Empower teams to innovate, experiment, and rapidly learn, ensuring that transformation projects are aligned with enterprise strategy and deliver measurable results.

    2. Data Stewardship & Governance (Supporting Transformation)

    • Embed data stewardship and governance practices as enablers of transformation, ensuring operational data is high-quality, well-governed, and actively used to drive process improvement.

    • Promote standardization of data-related processes and approaches across global operations, supporting compliance, auditability, and traceability in regulated environments (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, GMP).

    • Collaborate with technical data teams to ensure data products and analytics solutions deliver actionable insights to operations leaders and frontline teams.

    • Champion lean and optimized processes for data professionals, enabling efficient execution of transformation initiatives.

    3. Process Transformation & Impact

    • Identify transformation opportunities across the value chain, including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality functions, and develop strategies to mature capabilities.

    • Lead change management for digital transformation, ensuring stakeholder alignment, effective communication, and sustained adoption of new practices across all levels of the organization.

    • Ensure that transformation initiatives deliver actionable insights and measurable impact to operations leaders and frontline teams.

    • Partner with Data Services to design dashboards, reports, and predictive models that empower decision-making and continuous improvement.

    • Understand and apply principles of Medical Device Quality Management Systems (QMS).

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Demonstrated success in blending process improvement with data analytics to deliver measurable operational impact.

    • Deep understanding of medical device manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.

    • Strong knowledge of process transformation, change management, and digital enablement.

    • Experience collaborating with technical data teams and translating business needs into actionable data strategies.

    • Familiarity with platforms such as MES, ERP (SAP), Databricks, Spotfire and Power BI.

    • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to executive leadership.

    • Global, multi-site operations experience preferred.

    • Understanding of Medical Device Quality Management Systems (QMS).

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical), Operations Management, or a related technical discipline required.

    • 18+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or operations roles, with at least 5 years in leading transformation initiatives or process improvement.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    • Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent graduate degree, with a focus on operations, supply chain, or data analytics considered a strong asset. 12+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or operations roles, with at least 5 years in data product management or data strategy leadership.

    • Formal Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification (or equivalent experience leading enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives).

    • Experience executing process improvement projects.

    Additional Information

    • The position is in-person at our Acton, MA location.

    • Travel is estimated at 20% but will flex depending on business needs.

    Additional Information:

    Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $204,500.00 - $306,725.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
