Job description

Position Summary

People of Action is a nonprofit campaign that encourages people in Southern California to get involved and give back to their communities. The campaign supports youth leadership, environmental sustainability, community service, and local economic strength. Rotary District 5240, part of Rotary International’s long-standing service network, leads these efforts in local communities. Donors and corporate partners fund the campaign, and their sponsorships help make this work possible while giving them visibility and a chance to support social responsibility in Ventura, Kern, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties.

Lakeview Canyon is looking for a 100% commission-based representative to help build the sponsorships and partnerships that support this nonprofit campaign. In this role, you will find and connect with businesses, foundations, and civic groups across the four counties, working on your own but with help from campaign management for bigger deals. This position is a good fit for someone who is self-motivated and wants the chance to earn unlimited income while making a positive impact in local communities.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Prospect and identify businesses, foundations, and civic organizations aligned with community service.
  • Conduct outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and networking events.
  • Set and run introductory meetings with business owners, executives, and CSR decision-makers.
  • Present the campaign's sponsorship tiers and partnership benefits.
  • Register each prospect with campaign management before the first outreach.
  • Manage a personal pipeline and submit biweekly updates (prospects contacted, meetings set, proposals submitted, deals closed).
  • Coordinate with campaign management on qualification and closing support for larger prospects.
  • Represent the campaign in a professional manner across the four counties, with opportunities to grow as the campaign expands in Southern California.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in sales, business development, sponsorship, or fundraising, and a history of closing deals.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with business owners, executives, and community leaders.
  • Self-motivated and able to build and manage your own pipeline.
  • Genuine interest in the mission of Rotary and community service.
  • It’s a big plus if you already have connections with Rotary, local business or CSR decision-makers.

Compensation

  • 25% commission on all sponsorship and partnership revenue you secure. Uncapped. Sponsorship packages range from $500 to $15,000
  • Independent contractor (1099). Flexible schedule, fully remote.
